App Logo At Carleton University, every honours student needs to take the COMP 4905 course, which is the honours project. Each student identifies a suitable supervising professor and approaches them with a project proposal, outlining a problem, and a brief set of goals and objectives to solve said problem. Usually students choose an honours project which stems from something they have already been exposed to in one of their previous courses. I chose to ignore that path and instead, brought forward a project proposal for an android application to assist commuters and cyclists in Ottawa. I had never done any sort of mobile development before but I knew I had the commitment and passion to complete the proposed project within the stated timeframe.

Pictured below are some screenshots taken from the final android application. Since the project wasn't intended to be published to the play store at the time of development, the UI wasn't a priority so much as the actual design decisions and back-end code structure. For full details, you can consult the final project report that was handed in to the supervising professor upon completion.
